Priorslee Lake (Telford) - A site is devoted to the wildlife in and around the lake at Priorslee and includes daily bird counts.

The Shropshire Peregrine Group - A new website set up in 2011. Find out all about the peregrines of Shropshire with the latest news, photographs and background information.

 CJ Wildbird Foods Ltd - This company has been a major supporter of the SOS over the years. It stocks what is probably the best selection of bird foods, feeders and associated products in Europe.

Subbuteo Natural History Books is a division of CJ WildBird Foods. It is an international mail order company specialising in wildlife, natural history and travel publications. Caring for Gods Acre - is a small organisation working in Hereford diocese (which covers most of Shropshire south of Shrewsbury) which supports churchyard conservation and the site is a good introduction to its work. 

RSPB South Shrops Local Group - This locally based members group, with an emphasis on the South Shropshire area, holds indoor and outdoor meetings throughout the year covering a wide range of topics and areas.

Shropshire Wildlife Trust - Information about the County Trust with a good guide to the Nature Reserves that it manages. 

John Arnfield's Interesting websites - This site contains a summary of web links which have been mentioned in the The Buzzard (the bulletin of the SOS) and the Summer 2007 issue contained a superb summary of web links to bird sounds on the web.

Shrewsbury & Atcham BC Countryside Unit - The team who look after Shrewsbury's green and pleasant sites, including the Rea Brook Valley Local Nature Reserve. Plenty of activities and opportunities to get involved in locally.

Wildlife Research Europe - A collaboration between Vivara, CJ Wildlife and leading wildlife experts throughout Europe who aim to work together to ensure that their products best meet the needs of wildlife. They are establishing trial sites in several areas in Europe to test new products and designs.

Shropshire Tourism - the definitive tourist information guide for Shropshire - this web site has the most interesting and diverting places to visit in Shropshire, the very best B&Bs, Hotels and self catering accommodation and where to find that delicious Shropshire food and drink.

 

National Sites

Birds of Britain - Over 450 pages including changing monthly features and a permanent guide to Britain's bird reserves and clubs. There is a wealth of information on this site.

British Garden Birds - Contains a useful 'bird guide' and some excellent pages in the 'information' section covering numerous subjects from buying binoculars, feeders and bird photography to info about bird's sight, smell and hearing.

Fatbirder Website - Over 600 pages and links to over 15,000 ornithological websites. This is the site to go to if you want to know what's on the web related to birdwatching.

Nestboxes and Feeders - Information about attracting a variety of Birds, Animals and Insects to your garden. You will find a wealth of detail about animal and bird nest boxes and feeding stations, as well as ways to watch and film wildlife and tips on gardening to attract bird species. With an ever increasing pressure on wildlife habitats, every conservation effort is important and providing a safe haven for different creatures in your garden will help. 

Birdguides - The very latest rare bird sightings in Britain and Ireland, huge photo library, database of past records, excellent maps and much more. Many features are free but subscription is required to access some areas.

British Trust for Ornithology - A useful site for the amateur field ornithologist. The Migration Watch page is a must for anyone interested in bird migration. Includes maps from the Breeding Bird Atlases, many Survey Reports and 'Bird Track' - a national site for your bird records.

Royal Society for the Protection of Birds - Information about the work of this world leading bird protection organisation.
